Ann Pieper is an ADHD and Academic coach. She develops and implements strategies to help in executive functioning. She works with children, adolescents, and adults. Her approach is individualized and focuses on setting goals and attaining them. Ann has a masters degree in reading and study skills and is well positioned to help you and your child achieve success in school, in college, at work, and in life.
Ann Pieper is the Founder of The ADHD Center of Milwaukee and Cofounder both of the non-profit ADHD America, and the ADHD Parent Support Group of Milwaukee. Through her years as a successful ADHD Coach and educator, she saw the opportunity to provide a more consolidated set of services for the ADHD adults, college students, and adolescents who were in need of services. Ann is an experienced coach and educator with almost 30 years of experience. Coupled with this, Ann was a university lecturer on the neuroscience of learning. Ann received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Ann is a proud mother of 2 young adults with ADHD and learning differences.
Julie Griswold, an Academic Coach, creates personalized coaching plans to address the management of ADHD and Literacy Intervention in academic environments. She helps students (and their parents) identify skills that build independence in daily routines, increase focus and break down assignments into manageable tasks. ADHD is often accompanied by language-based learning difficulties that are undiagnosed, such as Dyslexia. Research shows that almost 20% of the population has Dyslexia, and these students need specific intervention and support. Julie uses the Orton-Gillingham approach to provide explicit structured literacy instruction for students who struggle with reading and writing. This is a diagnostic and prescriptive approach, in which materials are individually designed to enhance strengths and target weaknesses. Through regular meetings, students develop strategies to improve their self-awareness, focus, and confidence in literacy skills. Addressing these challenges in elementary school can help lay the foundation for academic success in the future.
Julie is an Educator with over 20 years of experience teaching English, Reading and Writing. She works with students with ADHD and Dyslexia. She is trained by the Orton-Gillingham Academy (Associate level) and provides evidence-based instruction for students with language-based learning difficulties, such as Dyslexia. Julie is also a trained Mindfulness instructor and incorporates Mindfulness strategies into meetings to help students improve focus, stress and manage self-regulatory behaviors. Her MBSR training is through Palouse Mindfulness, Mindful Life-Foundations of Mindful Parenting, and the Growing Minds Curriculum. Julie is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University (MAT Secondary Education) and Lehigh University (BA), and holds a Lifetime Educator’s License in Wisconsin. Last but not least, Julie is the proud mother of 4 amazing children, who motivate her and provide her with an invaluable education in this field.

Students who have been diagnosed with ADHD have difficulty in school from kindergarten through college. ADHD affects all areas of a young person’s life from school to home; whether the ADHD is the inattentive or hyperactive-impulsive type.
According to the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA) Subcommittee on ADHD Coaching, “ADHD coaches support their clients in developing a comprehensive understanding of both the nature of ADHD and the impact of ADHD on their client’s quality of life. In addition, ADHD coaches work with clients to create structures, support, skills and strategies. Coaching assists clients with ADHD to stay focused on their goals, face obstacles, address core ADHD-related issues like time management, organization, self-esteem, gain clarity and function more effectively.”
Through frequent contact, weekly sessions (at client’s house, by telephone or via Skype), plus regular e-mail or texting exchange, Ann will guide a client to commit to action. As a sounding board for their experiences, clients will be empowered to move forward in their lives.
While professional coaching is not a substitute for therapy or prescribed medication, Ann believes that personal ADHD coaching is a very effective and important part of the path to success. More and more experts in the treatment of ADHD are advocating for coaching as the piece of the puzzle that has been missing.

I met Ann Pieper thirteen years ago, my daughter Dani was eight years old at the time and suffered from ADHD and severe anxiety not to mention she was a full year behind in reading and math. Ann met with Dani weekly and her support and guidance is what helped Dani stay on track and excel. We are so unbelievably lucky to know her she is absolutely amazing. Dani needed unconditional support and nurturing and that’s exactly what Ann gave. My daughter is now 21 and still has tutoring sessions with Ann and she still is so very helpful in her college years.

“With a diagnosis of ADD and anxiety disorder, we brought our middle school-aged son to the ADHD Center of Milwaukee for help. Medication wasn’t working. Therapy didn’t help. School pressures on the North Shore are intense. We were struggling to put arms around our son’s condition, and to know how best to help him. While I relied on medical doctors for advice on managing the condition, I turned to Ann for help with time and project management – some pragmatic steps to help make the school day more successful… hopefully.
What we received instead was an eye-opening education into the way ADD/ADHD affects students, how schools react and handle the diagnosis, and what you as a family can do to support your child – comprehensively.
